D. Ryan Miller

Founder & Executive Director

Ryan leads the association's work to grow North Carolina's home and building performance industry by working with members and partner organizations to develop and manage valuable programs and services that create financial and market value.  This work includes establishing a stable workforce of trained professionals, creating new market opportunities through partnerships and new initiatives, and advocating for a better business climate.  Ryan also leads NCBPA's efforts on industry policy, legislation, consumer marketing and more.

 

Prior to founding NCBPA, Ryan was a Project and Program Manager at Advanced Energy in Raleigh and also served as the Operations Manager for Green Horizon, a member company based in Durham.  Ryan also spent 5 years in Austin, TX working for the electric cooperatives.  Ryan currently serves on the Board of Directors for Efficiency First, a national home performance trade association, and is also a member of USGBC NC's building leadership group for the Triangle chapter.

 

Ryan is originally from Atlanta but considers North Carolina home.  He holds a Bachelors degree in International Business Management from the University of Georgia and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management Professional.

Rebecca Wyhof

Strategic Initiatives and Events

Rebecca works part-time with NCBPA on strategic initiatives and events.  Her work includes coordinating NCBPA's industry policy and legislative activities and managing the association's annual conference and major events.  

 

Outside of NCBPA, Rebecca is the President of Blue Roof Strategies and is a city council member in Sanford.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Government as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Communication from American University in Washington, DC.

Scott Hoover

Quality Assurance Designee

Scott works part-time with NCBPA serving as the Quality Assurance Designee (QAD) for the association's RESNET Rating Providership.  In this role, Scott provides technical assistance and quality assurance services to Home Energy Raters across the state in support of their work to build and rate energy efficient homes.

 

Outside of NCBPA, Scott is a Field Instructor for Everblue where he trains industry professionals for certifications including HERS, BPI and LEED.  Prior to working at Everblue, Scott was an Energy Efficiency Specialist for member company Southern Energy Management.

John Ed McFadden

HERS Rater Support

John Ed works part-time with NCBPA to support Home Energy Raters by certifying homes for HERS Ratings and providing technical assistance.

 

Outside of NCBPA, John Ed owns his own energy auditing and home building businesses in western NC.  He has an Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Carolina, a Master' Degree from Appalachian State University and a Doctorate at the University of Georgia in Counseling.
